Hedy Fry, your site is broken

After several days of “Coming soon!”, the Hedy Fry web site now has a Flash splash screen (with photos of Fry in a heavy coat and scarf – probably not the best images in a late-spring campaign) and links to English and French versions of the site.

Neither of them is working; each yields 404 Page Not Found errors.

That’s a little awkward when you need to capitalize on all the post-launch momentum you can get…

    with Drupal? Is it some sort of multi-site install gone awry? I realize clean URLs is not enabled, but after the sub-directory? Freaky kung foo baby.

    I agree with the coat comment. Looks staged – especially with the one showing her ‘offering up an improtant point’ beside the one holding flowers but wearing the same clothes (maybe haggling?).

    However, I went on and read her speech (couldn’t download it) — I found it incredibly powerful. Would like to see the delivery but she says a lot of things that I agree with — especially her vision of Canada as a world leader not via military strength or GDP — but by example (OK – I don’t say it as well as she does).

    Liberals give great speeches. Speeches that are made all the more compelling because the Liberal Party is the historical governing party of Canada. They get our hopes up. Now, as far the doing part goes, not so much. Good speeching, not so much doing.

    Wow…lot’s of nasty sniping over the most inane things about a candidate. How Fry is reaching for flowers? Her coat?

    Then someone likes her speech, and of course that means that it (speech) must be a load of crap as well. I choose to believe that the person gives a good speech, not their party.

    No wonder this world of ours is becoming increasingly testy, bitter, nasty etc…we all keep perpetuating it.

    Float someone trying to get their campaign act together some slack, picture yourself in their position. Don’t worry about whether a “photograph” taken in winter is appropriate in spring, it is just a PHOTO.

    There are much more important things wrong in this world to worry about..
