Behold, the death throes of a MacBook Pro’s lengthy uptime. From last Wednesday:MacBook Pro in the process of crashing (very odd display)

And that’s when I decided it just wasn’t coming back, and held down the power key for a few seconds.

    What, no crashing to reveal an 80×25 console and a shell prompt, from which you bring the system back from a should-be disaster? Reminds me too much of when Macs were toy computers. Grrr…

    That last shot, though, looks a lot like when I first powered up a monitor that I ended up returning as DOA.

    hey Rob – I’m one of them Windows kids — which means: no reboot this week is like no shower this week, you want to do that before it becomes “nasty” :-)
