It’s a fond if relieved farewell to Public Eye Online. As often as I was delighted to read of the misdoings of various Liberal miscreants, I cringed at the stuff Sean Holman printed about my team. (Although “Look, the NDP is canvassing!” probably caused me less aggravation than “Look, here is the full list of criminal charges laid against senior ministerial staff!” caused Liberal supporters.)
Is it too much to hope that someone else will take up this torch? Yes, Sean will move on to the Vancouver Sun and will no doubt have buckets of gossip to dish in his new capacity. But there’s something reassuring about an independent voice doing this kind of stuff.
And for that matter, a Public Eye that focused on B.C.’s media scene would be even better…
