In the world of push-button publishing, reflective, thoughtful writing is in pretty short supply. So you owe it to yourself to drop by A Voice in the Wilderness sometime.
Timmy the G’s post on Terri Schiavo is easily up to the high standard the blog has set for principled, rational yet passionate discourse:
Curt at Northwestern Winds, a very thoughtful conservative writer and a man of deep faith, has a different take on this matter. He has given much thought to the ethical ramifications of the fate of Schiavo, and asks what it is we owe to people in a permanent vegetative state (PVS). These are worthwhile explorations, and I would welcome such a discussion. But for me, the Schiavo case comes down to this: according to Michael Schiavo, her husband, a man who has spent hundreds of thousands on her care, has said she would not want to live in this fashion. Thus, denying her wish in this matter is an act of profund cruelty, and has prolonged the suffering of everyone involved in this case.
Many thanks for the kind words, Rob.
