For those of us who won’t be able to pass on Father’s Day greetings this year, RossK does the job vicariously for us with a terrific, moving and, of course, thoroughly political post. Here’s the ending, but do go read the rest:
I get the fact that, if it wasn’t for folks like my Dad and the other lefties of his time, my current world, one in which I make a living with my eyes and my mind wide open, would not be what it is today…..
….And most of all, I now get the fact that my Dad was, and is, my hero.
To all those heroes, those still with us and those who have passed on, Happy Father’s Day.
Hey Rob,
Thanks.
There are tons of ways for folks to get their fix of this kind of stuff.
Big brothers comes immediately to mind (I know Big Sisters is in real need at the moment as well) and all that coaching type stuff, but one of the coolest I’ve seen recently are this crazy bikegroup that was at the Commecial Dr. Street Fair on the weekend. Essentially, its a club where kids get to pimp their bikes. They’re amazing.
