lexibigotry, n., lecks-ih-BIGG-uh-tree: A tendency to reject an entire concept because its proponent misuses language, particularly a single word or phrase, in promoting it. Hence lexibigot.
e.g. – “For all I know, I might be interested in what Reblg is doing. But I’ll never find out because they said ‘irregardless’ on their web site, and I stopped reading right there because I’m kind of a lexibigot.”
Whooee! RobFeller, I reckon I’ve run across more’n the usual number o’ lexibigots in the Canajun boogeysphere. Sumpin’ ’bout my way o’ writin’ jest brings out the bigot in ’em, I s’pose. Last lexibigot t’ gimme a goin’ over was over t’ BoogsCanadee when sum feller sed I made sense even if my writin’ style was pretentious and annoyin’. Guess he was tryin’ t’ overcome his bigotry by allowin’ that I made sense.
Keep up with yer lexicon project, RobbieBoy. It’s a laff.
Yores trooly,
