(Let me say, right off the top, that everyone involved has been very classy about all of this, with aid and promises of reimbursement all around, except for item number two, where karma ended up doing its work.)
As I listened to Cross-Country Checkup this afternoon on leisure, I did a quick mental inventory of the toll that our quiet, relaxing weekend has taken:
- 1 (one) large dent in rear fender of van, after being sideswiped in a parking lot by a visiting friend.
- 1 (one) stain in child’s bedroom after a Misplaced Postdigestive Incident on the part of Sisko, our black Lab.
- 3 (three) unsightly but shallow gouges under Sisko’s right eye, from being bitten by one of his friends.
We keep telling ourselves that these things come in threes. On the other hand (gulp), the night is still young…
I can’t wait for work to start again tomorrow. The stress of another day of relaxation would kill me.
