Pretty soon Ottawa riders will be paying more to take the bus than anyone else in Canada. As of December 1, cash fares will be $3. $3!!!!! That’s a full 25 cents more than the current fares, which were just hiked a few months ago.
That’s staggering. Three bucks for a bus ride? Dollar for kilometre, you’d be better off taking Air Canada. Hell, at least you’d get a movie out of it. (Bonus: at the end of the trip, you’d no longer be in Ottawa! I kid, I kid.)
Considering that we’re paying a lot less out here, Vancouver’s transit system starts to look pretty damn good by comparison.
