The federal NDP has launched an online petition against plans by Telus and Bell Canada to charge users for incoming text messages. I’ve signed; if you agree, why not add your name, too?
With everyday Canadians already paying more for wireless phone services than subscribers in the US and Europe, an additional fee on incoming text messages – including spam and unwanted messages – is unfair.
I support Jack Layton’s call for Canada’s cell phone providers to treat their customers fairly and cancel the text message cash-grab.
