Can anyone explain why these sources have been granted anonymity so they can use the Toronto Star to circulate rumours that serve an obviously partisan agenda?

Pogge raises a superb and troubling question, in response to a Toronto Star story about claims from unnamed Conservatives that three Liberal MPs are considering crossing the floor to the government.

I’d love to think the answer isn’t “Because otherwise we wouldn’t have a story.”
