Comedy sensei David Granirer has teamed with Vancouver comic Al Hassam to launch a new open mic night Wednesdays at La Fontana Caffe. It debuts tonight.

And I’ll be hitting their stage for a set at their October 15th show, to which you are cordially invited. It starts at 7:30 pm. There’s no cover charge, and the venue (on Hastings Street at Boundary) gets a lot of love on Yelp.

Book your free seat now at 604-298-4004. See you there!

And check out David’s other project…

Stand Up for Mental Health, now running across Canada and the U.S.:

In David’s Stand Up For Mental Health course, mental health consumers turn their problems into stand up comedy, then perform their acts at conferences, treatment centers, psych wards, for various mental health organizations, corporations, government agencies, on college and university campuses, and most importantly for the general public.

One last thing: David teaches a comedy course.

He was my instructor nearly a decade ago when I first started standup. His course at Langara made a huge difference to me, and I recommend it heartily to anyone who’d like to explore standup. The next one starts October 14.
